The Foundation for Jewish Camp’s mission is to grow, support, and strengthen the Jewish camp movement, so camps can deliver the best possible experience for their campers, staff, and families.

Their Challenge

Foundation for Jewish Camp (FJC) approached Evolve in 2022 to assess readiness and community capacity for an anniversary campaign. The feasibility study revealed a need to grow individual giving and build a more formal major donor program. At the same time, FJC was navigating fundraising team transitions, including the departure of a key senior leader, creating a leadership gap during a critical moment in the organization.

Key Deliverables & Results

Evolve stabilized FJC’s fundraising team, provided 18 months of interim development leadership, and conducted searches to strengthen FJC’s advancement capacity. Key deliverables included:

  • Led executive search for key advancement roles, including Chief Advancement Officer, Annual Giving Manager, and Director of Major Gifts 
  • Conducted a salary assessment to support competitive compensation 
  • Designed and delivered a feasibility study to assess fundraising capacity and donor readiness 
  • Developed an annual fund campaign and major gift program to support sustainable fundraising growth 
  • Provided interim leadership to support professional and lay leadership and oversee the development and marketing team
