Position Overview: A Consultant at Evolve is an integral member of our consultant team. Serving as the project lead on client projects, Consultants are responsible for strategic oversight, communications, team management and implementation. Consultants possess high level strategic thinking, excellent problem-solving and writing skills and have the capacity to play a leadership role in servicing clients and client projects. Consultants often oversee, lead and manage a team of consultants (including Associate Consultants and/or Senior Associate Consultants) on a project team. The ability to communicate effectively with both internal Evolve Giving Group team members and clients is critical. 

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of professional experience in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on fundraising, operations, board and leadership development, campaign management, events, training/facilitation, executive search and/or strategic planning. Prior supervision and strong people management skills are essential. Prior consulting experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have experience working for or with organizations in the Jewish communal space.

This position offers a remote work environment with occasional evening and weekend meetings.

Compensation Range

$65 - $75/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counsel and support toward the implementation of nonprofit practices, with a focus on major gift development, campaign planning, leadership development and strategic planning.
  • Provide strategic thinking and comprehensive project oversight, tailoring recommendations to the specific needs of each client.
  • Develop and manage project budget and timelines.
  • Confidently facilitate meetings, events and conversations with professionals and volunteers; offer high level support, solutions and guidance, building consensus when necessary.
  • Correspond in a timely and respectful manner with clients, supervisors and peers, while modeling leadership behavior. 
  • Be a strong verbal and written communicator with excellent facilitation, presentation and editing skills.
  • Navigate complexities within people, relationships and organizations.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and self-motivate in an independent environment.
  • Lead multiple project types concurrently with minimal oversight.
  • Problem-solve resourcefully and proactively.
  • Analyze and synthesize information, spot trends and ask insightful questions.
  • Proficiently utilize Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.

  • Leading client projects, including management of day-to-day activities and oversight of team members.
  • Proactively managing project scope, deliverables and timeline for project team.
  • Serving as the main project contact and corresponding with professional staff, volunteers and board members.
  • Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data to inform recommendations.
  • Providing oversight in the drafting of reports and/or resources to support project assessment and implementation.
  • Designing, coordinating and facilitating check-in phone calls, meetings and/or retreats.
  • Offering expert guidance and advice as problems or challenges occur throughout the project.
  • Coaching professional and lay leadership toward organizational growth.
  • Supporting Evolve Giving Group business development, communications, and other internal projects.
