“Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life, and not something you do in your spare time.” -Marion Wright Edelman

Consultant, Talent Services

Julie Lyss

Seattle, WA

Julie joined the Evolve team as a Search Consultant in 2021. Prior to this role, Julie served as a development professional and volunteer in numerous companies and nonprofits for three decades. Julie’s expertise in retained search enables her to understand client’s spoken and unanticipated needs, actively listen, and maintain open communication between the client and ideal candidates. Through her hallmark of establishing trust and building relationships, Julie has paved a path of success in talent acquisition.

Julie launched her executive search career as a retained recruiter during the late 1990s ‘dot com’ boom in San Francisco. She enjoyed delving into a steep learning curve about new businesses and ideas, connecting with clients to understand their needs and having conversations with potential candidates. After moving from the Bay area, Julie expanded her expertise in retained search when she migrated to physician and medical executive search in St. Louis, MO. Julie’s fundraising expertise was honed while working for faith-based organizations, schools and food banks; Julie ran all aspects of campaigns from annual fund and events to major donor solicitations and capital campaigns. She volunteers as president of the board for her youngest daughter's high school, is a founding member of a local anti-racist parent group and through her temple, she runs a monthly lunch-making program to support a local Seattle women's shelter.
