West Coast Director

American Friends of the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled

|

Los Angeles, CA

Overview

The American Friends of the Israel Sport Center for the Disabled (AFISCD) is committed to providing ongoing financial support to the ISCD, empowering people of all ages who are physically challenged as a result of birth defects, acts of terrorism, and accidents to receive transformational therapies and programming through all forms of sport and recreational activities at the ISCD in Ramat Gan, Israel. ISCD’s vision is to provide every Israeli child in need the opportunity to lead a productive and successful life. The world-class ISCD is a community of over 2,500, with a 60-year record of proven success in helping these young athletes become integral members of society through newfound abilities. Through sport, they gain the confidence to become anything they desire. They join the IDF, work in business, in radio, teach, become doctors, lawyers, and many join teams that compete locally, nationally, and internationally. In addition, many ISCD athletes strive to compete in the Paralympics, and over the years have brought home several medals of distinction.

AFISCD seeks a highly passionate, creative, self-motivated team player to serve as its West Coast Director, working with the national office to help develop a fundraising plan primarily in Los Angeles, with the potential to ultimately expand AFISCD’s philanthropic reach throughout the West Coast. This position will report to the National Executive Director (based in Chicago) and work in close partnership with local and national board members. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5+ years of development experience with an outstanding track record of individual solicitations at high levels, as well as event planning, and preferably grant writing experience.
