The leadership of The Associated seeks a Director of Development - Endowments to join our Planned Giving and Endowments team. The Director of Development will work collaboratively with the Planned Giving and Endowments Team to cultivate and solicit endowment gifts for The Associated and its network of agencies. In addition, this position will coordinate professional and lay training in endowment development, and communicate the benefits of planned and endowed giving to affiliated agencies, donors, and prospects coordinating with marketing campaigns. The Director of Development will monitor development goals and progress, to guide development efforts and related communications to Boards, Affiliates, donors, professional advisors and prospects. This position will also entail active partnerships with the Marketing and Donor Center departments, creating endowment materials and working directly with individual donors.

Compensation Range

$110,000 - $125,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate seamlessly with senior fundraising leaders across the Associated to synthesize cohesive strategies
  • Serve as primary staff for endowment gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship  
  • Coordinate solicitation efforts by prospect identification, qualification, and strategy development
  • Partner with Associated staff, Board, and lay leaders to integrate legacy development into overall goals of The Associated
  • Ensure that effective stewardship and recognition programs are planned  and executed to honor legacy donors including the Legacy Event
  • Promote Associated and gift planning concepts to cultivate new multi-generational legacy gifts 
  • Partner with with Associated marketing department to prepare relevant promotional literature 
  • Collaborate with Donor Center in endowment development communications, database updates and other donor services
  • Hone technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, literature review and establishing personal networks

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years experience in fundraising, or equivalent in following areas: marketing, financial planning, community relations, and/or planned giving
  • Prior endowment development/planned giving experience a plus
  • Proactive, adaptable, and a self-starter
  • Analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop excellent relationships with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail; able to organize, prioritize, and execute responsibilities as well as manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of business technology, fundraising databases and data analysis skills required
  • Passion for the Jewish community, Israel, and familiarity with Jewish calendar and lifecycle
