Milwaukee Jewish Day School (MJDS) is a pluralistic Jewish community with curricular roots in text, theology, practice, Israel, and memory. MJDS empowers students to develop Jewish roots, nourish their souls, and grow into lifelong learners, while also gaining the experiences and tools to engage with the world. MJDS enrolls approximately 180 students in Kindergarten through 8th grade and lives out its core values of empathy, wonder, and Tikkun Olam.
MJDS seeks a strategic and skilled Director of Philanthropy to manage and implement all aspects of the school’s comprehensive development program. Reporting directly to the Head of School, this managerial role will supervise one development team member and work closely with other senior staff and key lay leaders. The Director of Philanthropy will meaningfully contribute to the school’s financial health and sustainability, projecting an inspiring vision of its impact and future direction.
A strong candidate will demonstrate proven success in nonprofit development or a related area and strong relationship building skills. Prior oversight of a fundraising program is preferable, with experience in at least some of the following: major gifts, events, legacy, endowment, grants, and/or alumni engagement.
