The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County (JFPBC)is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming, inspiring, and saving lives in the Palm Beaches and 70 countries around the world. Each year, JFPBC inspires thousands  of community members to contribute, volunteer and participate in programs that generate more than $55 million creating a powerful impact in the community.  Working every day to improve the lives of Jewish people, JFPBC funds over 13 agencies and programs in the Palm Beaches and around the world to strengthen  the social service network for all, to build a strong and inclusive Jewish community  and to provide help to those struggling through adversity.  

JFPBC seeks a Senior Director of Development to hold and grow a significant major  gifts portfolio in the philanthropic landscape of the Jewish Federation of Palm  Beach County. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President, Development, this seasoned leader is entrusted with crafting and executing sophisticated cultivation and solicitation strategies that drive substantial results in the Annual  Campaign and Targeted Gifts initiatives. With a primary focus on the crucial fundraising campaign at High Ridge Country Club and the expansion of the major gifts program in Palm Beach & West Palm Beach—specifically engaging residents and fostering community support—the Senior Director's portfolios encompass  over $3 million in annual giving. Successful candidates will have proven major gifts  fundraising experience as well as a sophisticated understanding of donor identification, cultivation, stewardship, and engagement. The Senior Director will  collaborate with lay leaders and donors, as offering leadership to JFPBC initiatives.

Compensation Range

$115K - $120K

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a crucial fundraising campaign at High Ridge Country Club and lead the growth of a major gifts program in Palm Beach & West Palm Beach. Connect with residents in buildings such as The Bristol and neighborhoods like El-Cid, garner support from employees at companies such as Goldman Sachs, and act as the JFPBC's fundraising liaison for the Meyer Jewish Preparatory School 
  • Manage a major gifts focused fundraising portfolio including well-established donors, providing professional leadership, and support to significant donor affinity groups events, programming, and engagement 
  • Design and execute intricate, multi-step prospect strategies that harness the  influence of community leaders, ultimately securing substantial five-, six-, and  seven-figure contributions 
  • Attain a comprehensive understanding of donors’ and prospects' philanthropic passions, capacity, and motivations through strategic face-to face and virtual interactions 
  • Collaborate seamlessly with senior fundraising leaders across Federation and Jewish Partner Organizations to synthesize cohesive strategies 
  • Engage and cultivate new donors for philanthropic support to JFPBC
  • Champion mentorship for fellow fundraisers, leveraging insights from donor and prospect engagement to enhance departmental strategies
  • Guide impactful Development Team initiatives and preside over the fundraising strategy for assigned portfolio

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 5+ years fundraising and/or major gifts  experience 
  • Demonstrated successful 5+ figure gift  cultivation and solicitation 
  • Solicitation, donor cultivation, and  stewardship experience 
  • Strong understanding of Federation, preferred 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to  develop excellent relationships with internal and external colleagues, lay leaders, and stakeholders 
  • Experience in volunteer management
  • Strong attention to detail; able to  organize, prioritize and execute responsibilities as well as manage  multiple projects 
  • Excellent communication skills (written,  oral, and public speaking) 
  • Strong knowledge of business  technology, including and fundraising  database (Blackbaud) skills required. 
  • Passion for the Jewish community,  Israel, and familiarity with Jewish calendar and lifecycle
