The Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County (JFPBC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming, inspiring, and saving lives in the PalmBeaches and 70 countries around the world. Each year, JFPBC inspires thousands of community members to contribute, volunteer and participate in programs that generate more than $55 million creating powerful impact in the community.Working every day to improve the lives of Jewish people, JFPBC funds 13 agencies and programs in the Palm Beaches and around the world to strengthen the social service network for all, to build a strong and inclusive Jewish community and to provide help to those struggling through adversity.

JFPBC seeks a Director for the Jewish Women’s Foundation (JWF). An operating program of Women’s Philanthropy, JWF strengthens Federation's role as the local community's center for innovative philanthropic programs, enhancing Women'sPhilanthropy's capacity to adapt to emerging philanthropic trends. JWF focuses on growing donor interest in giving circles, giving through a Jewish lens and engaging with constituents on a deeper and more profound level.

Reporting to the Vice President for Women’s Philanthropy, the Director will partner with JWF leadership to plan and execute grant making, oversee JWF financial activity, administer financial policies, implement programming, engage, and recruit new JWF Trustees. Successful candidates will foster a strong sense of teamwork with donors, lay leaders, and colleagues, to promote a spirit of collective enterprise, and upholding a shared commitment to Federation’s organizational goals.

Compensation Range

$90K - $95K

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnering with leadership, develop and implement strategic plans for JWF’s integration into Women’s Philanthropy
  • Engage and recruit new Trustees to JWF as well as engage JWF members and Trustees in Women's Philanthropy and JFPBC
  • Facilitate Trustee grant making, preparing, and partnering with JWF Leaders, to make optimal grants and programming decisions
  • Provide professional leadership to the JWF Leadership Council and all related grantmaking committees
  • Facilitate, manage, and partner with lay leaders to launch, and complete the cyclical grant making process in consultation with relevant internal partners
  • Establish and maintain relationships with grantee partners; offering support and consultation to applicants and grantees in the areas of program, performance, communications, reporting, and growth as needed
  • Manage modest portfolio (<25) of donors, and the pipeline of solicitations for JWF and Trustee membership
  • Prepare Federation professionals and lay leaders for donor meetings and manage the pipeline of solicitations for JWF and Trustee membership
  • Cooperate with all development staff and key volunteer solicitors to promote the acquisition of major and planned gifts for Jewish Federation's strategic funding priorities
  • Oversee special campaigns and other fundraising initiatives for JWF, as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3+ years experience in the non-profit sector; women's empowerment, social justice, philanthropy preferred
  • Successful track record with personal solicitation in the $1K-$10K range
  • Demonstrated understanding and successful management of volunteer/professional relationships
  • Capacity to manage confidential information, ability to think critically and use independent judgment
  • Ability to manage complex, sensitive issues and situations with tact and skill
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to set and achieve goals
  • Comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently, but also integrate and lead teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with fundraising databases; the ability to utilize data strategically
  • Passion for Jewish Community, Israel and familiarity with Jewish calendar and lifecycle
