The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as the Director, Next-Gen. With a strong focus on engagement, the Director will serve as the primary relationship builder and fundraiser for the Next-Gen portfolio. A successful candidate will be a highly organized, creative thinker, with significant experience in philanthropic development and leadership. By championing innovation and collaboration, this role offers the chance to shape not only the growth of the organization but also the trajectory of those they serve.

Compensation Range

$85,000-$100,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Next-Gen Steering Committee and Ben Gurion Society members in creating and executing a vision of in-depth engagement and developing leadership skills within the Next-Gen community
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify, recruit, organize, and train volunteers in community priorities, funding processes, and engaging with partners
  • Construct a fundraising and stewardship strategy, including planning and executing fundraising events and giving societies for an assigned portfolio of donors; serve as the relationship manager for donors and prospects
  • Create strategic plans for each assigned donor, and maintain donor notes and information within Salesforce
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to ensure campaign goals are met 
  • Regularly consult and engage with colleagues across Federation departments to ensure that a unified vision for Next-Gen is complementary within each department’s specific goals
  • Guide initiatives in multiple departments to maximize impact and ensure diverse opportunities exist for participation
  • Supervise the Young Adult Engagement Associate to ensure that metrics are being met and that participants have a pathway to future opportunities
  • Develop new programs and opportunities including immersive experiences
  • Regularly engage with Next-Gen partner organizations; attend programs and events, steward participants, and engage with professional colleagues to create new and innovative opportunities
  • Build a volunteer pipeline for organizations serving Next-Gen
  • Provide support for a variety of Federation and community-wide programs and initiatives

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, sales, leadership development or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to learn database systems; Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce experience a plus
  • Experience with volunteer management, relationship building, social media marketing, and event planning/promotion preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the Jewish community 
  • Experience with group facilitation and/or public speaking
  • Knowledge of the Atlanta Jewish community, and a basic understanding of young adult trends and preferences highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
