JCC Chicago is seeking a Manager of Annual Giving to oversee all aspects of JCC Chicago’s fundraising, including annual campaigns, individual giving, donor stewardship and cultivation, as well as marketing efforts related to the work of the Financial Resource Development department. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, a strong candidate will be able to effectively implement a multi-faceted annual fund and individual giving program by developing relationships that foster and sustain a culture of philanthropy and stewardship across the agency.

$55k–$70k DOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage the Annual Fund campaign and other individual giving opportunities, including approvals needed according to the Community Funding Schedule
  • Track individual giving prospects, including major gifts prospects and program alumni/participants; oversee assigned donor solicitation targets and goals
  • Contribute to donor engagement development via JCC programs and initiatives
  • Manage and support events and special projects such as fundraisers, campaign events and targeted group fundraising initiatives
  • Prepare and implement large donor solicitation projects in addition to ongoing donor cultivation and stewardship efforts 
  • Drive donor identification, acquisition, retention and growth; track efforts via internal management system
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to ensure use of integrated messaging language, develop and approve materials as needed for fundraising communication
  • Participate in inter-departmental staff meetings, as well as occasional board and committee meetings
  • Prepare reports, materials and presentations for the Leadership Team and Board members
  • Support development of best practices around data sharing, maintenance and reporting within FRD and across the agency

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit development with proven success in donor solicitation 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Business Administration, Communications, Public Administration or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving experience
  • Highly organized; ability to meet goals and objectives
  • Ability to work independently and confidentially, and be able to interact with donors, members and staff in professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/Database; experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Previous budget development and management experience preferred
  • Comfortable working a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days per week in the office
  • Knowledge of the Jewish philanthropic community
