JCC Chicago is seeking a Development Operations Manager to be responsible for maintaining the fundraising database with strong attention to detail and a focus on donor stewardship. The Development Operations Manager will contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Financial Resource Development (FRD) team by providing collaborative support for department initiatives, development events and administrative support. This individual will be a team player and proactive problem-solver and will handle all member and donor interactions with diplomacy and confidentiality. A strong candidate will be able to work closely with the finance team, have strong writing and communication skills, and be proficient in nonprofit databases and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain data integrity within the Salesforce(specifically NPSP – Nonprofit Success Pack) environment in conjunction with System Administrator; support development of data sharing, maintenance and reporting
  • Maintain accurate coding in current database in order to pull efficient reports; track all appeals and cultivation activities ensuring all forms of outreach and communication are documented
  • Manage regular reporting and dashboards in NPSP including FY goals, monthly forecasts, campaign metrics, and others as needed
  • In collaboration with Finance & Accounting, oversee gift processing and acknowledgment for all contributions; maintain donor files
  • Oversee process related to donor engagement activities, including camp visits, special events and board-related activities
  • Conduct prospect research and prepare prospect reports using resources such as wealth screening platforms, internet search, social media and other nontraditional platforms
  • Track grants in the fundraising database; partner with the Assistant Director on grant reporting
  • Support Women’s Board events and operations, including financial reporting
  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Development and other team members to prioritize and implement process and system enhancements; contribute to organizational planning and strategy
  • Provide support to special projects and events as needed; assist with printing and mailing invitations and tracking RSVP’s

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in nonprofit and/or development
  • Proficient in Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) Salesforce database
  • High level of comfort with Microsoft Suite; knowledge of Adobe suite and online event management software preferred
  • Accurate and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and present data analysis
  • High sense of integrity, confidentiality, honesty and ethics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Desire to take initiative to raise level of performance of the department
  • Comfort working independently and collaboratively
  • Passion for the mission of the JCC
  • Bachelor’s degree in English/Humanities, Business Communications, Public Administration, or related field
