The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) has supported Jewish communities in Israel and around the world since 1929. JAFI acts collectively to raise the financial resources and provide programmatic strategies and interventions needed to strengthen Israel and the Jewish people worldwide. On the ground in 65+ countries around the world, JAFI has facilitated Aliyah (immigration to Israel) for over 3.5 million Jews, deepened connections among Jews globally, supported the resilience and security of Israeli and Jewish communities, and encouraged every Jewish person to engage with Israel. Since the attacks on October 7, 2023, JAFI has mobilized as the global Jewish first responder including delivering over $23 million in critical emergency relief to victims, assisting dozens of devastated towns in the rebuilding process, and sending 3,000+ Shlichim (Israeli emissaries) to Jewish communities worldwide to strengthen Jewish identity and connections to Israel
JAFI is seeking a seasoned Major Gifts Officer to build, manage and expand major gifts territories in the United States. Successful candidates will thrive working independently to connect and engage both established and new donors, and prospects, across the country and in specific markets. The Major Gifts Officer will cultivate current and new donors to drive annual gifts, participation in special, issue-based campaigns and support the important work of JAFI. Supervised by the Vice President of Financial Resource Development, the Major Gifts Officer will work with a national team of Major Gifts Officers across the US and Jewish federation relationship managers to bring the work of JAFI to local communities and to engage donors in JAFI’s work. As a Major Gifts Officer, candidates should have experience soliciting five- and six-figure gifts, stewarding donors, understanding fundraising operations and moves management, and supporting fundraising events.
