Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion is North America's leading institution of higher Jewish education and the center for professional leadership development of Reform Judaism. The New York City-based Major Gifts Officer will work in collaboration with the AVP, Institutional Advancement and colleagues across North America and Israel, to develop and maintain key donor and alumni relationships, create and implement fundraising and leadership development programs, and increase awareness of HUC-JIR among donors, prospects, and the broader community. The Major Gifts Officer will identify new philanthropic investors, secure major gifts, provide meaningful touchpoints for engagement and develop creative and effective programmatic activities together with fellow gift officers and HUC colleagues. Successful candidates will be experienced and passionate self-starters with the ability to work in a highly collegial manner within a complex, national and international organizational culture. Regular travel throughout the Eastern region, with flexibility and willingness to travel beyond the region required.
