They are a diverse community united in their dedication to Torah study, support for the State of Israel, and desire to inspire the next generation of Am Yisrael. Or Torah has more than 400 member families and a vibrant education program. The congregation, led by their Senior Rabbi, Rabbi Zvi Engel, serves as a place of spiritual growth and communal activity within the greater Skokie area.
Or Torah seeks a talented leader to guide the Congregation as its second Executive Director. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership qualities with notable synagogue and/or nonprofit executive management experience.
The Executive Director will have the opportunity to participate in the strategic planning and development of the synagogue, ensuring its prosperity for generations to come. This individual should have prior fundraising and event experience, including the ability to build and maintain donor relationships, identify prospects, and solicit support. The Executive Director will manage the office administrator, youth director and custodian. Candidates need to be familiar with Jewish customs and lifecycle events. Participation in all activities of the synagogue is essential.
