Rodeph Sholom School (RSS), an independent Reform Jewish Day School started by Congregation Rodeph Sholom on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, is committed to providing each Nursery through 8th Grade student opportunities to thrive personally, academically, and spiritually. Offering a challenging curriculum that is enhanced by Jewish life, RSS develops each student’s love of learning and sense of responsibility to themselves and their community through meaningful experiences and intellectual exploration. The Reform Jewish education at RSS is guided by the principle of informed choice and rooted in tradition, identity, ethics and critical thinking, amplifying RSS’ excellent independent school program and fulfilling its vision to cultivate students who are purpose-driven leaders.
RSS seeks a Director of Development to join the school’s leadership team to provide guidance and direction to all aspects of the RSS development program, which currently includes a $1.2 million annual fund and is nearing completion of a $11.5 million capital fundraising effort. The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser who is highly organized, able to effectively manage multiple priorities, and enjoys collaborating with Board members, key stakeholders, faculty and administrative colleagues, parents, grandparents, and alumni to support RSS’ growth and innovation. The Director of Development will report directly to the Head of School.
