Director of Development

Our Place

|

Wilmette, IL/Hybrid Remote

Overview

The mission of Our Place is to support teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that they can live meaningful, productive, socially connected lives in their home community. In 2008 a group of parents and community members came together to address the unmet needs of teens and adults with developmental disabilities in the northern Chicago suburbs. They created Our Place to help these individuals achieve meaningful lives of inclusion in the North Shore. The primary goal is to ensure that participants develop the skills and gain the experiences they need to live independently. Our Place supports programs from a church community center in the heart of Wilmette, but the real program site is the community. More than half of the activities offered are in community centers, alongside local residents.

The Director of Development plays a key role in executing the Our Place mission, including raising 50-60% of the $1 million budget from individuals, foundations and corporations. This role directs all fundraising and communications activities to align with the vision, mission, culture and values of Our Place.
