The Den seeks an enthusiastic and collaborative Communications and Operations Manager to provide hands-on administrative oversight with all day-to-day logistical and operational tasks. A successful candidate will be a results-oriented professional who can manage interacting and scheduling with community members, programmatic support, and data collection and analysis. The Communications and Operations Manager will serve as a liaison to the Den’s Board of Directors, senior staff, and membership base, ensuring that all stakeholders receive timely and accurate support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Executive Director's schedule, and coordinate meetings with community members and external stakeholders; ensure that appropriate preparatory meeting materials are provided and follow-up is conducted
  • Oversee all operating systems, including pulling reports and gathering/processing data in Salesforce to keep the team on task
  • Collaborate with rabbis to schedule in-person and virtual Den gatherings 
  • Regularly update the website, Zoom meeting schedule, and calendars
  • Coordinate logistics for Board of Directors and Advisory Council meetings, including distributing agendas and maintaining the master calendar
  • Write, proofread, and edit select correspondence to ensure that the Den’s communications are professional, effective, and error-free
  • Provide programmatic support for community events and meals, such as Den Shabbat/Holiday experiences
  • Record expenses and log receipts using GSuite
  • Provide support for development efforts and events, including preparing acknowledgments and scheduling donor meetings
  • Represent the Den at communal professional development and networking opportunities 
  • Streamline operations and communications functions and workflow
  • Assist with miscellaneous special projects as requested by Executive Director; taking initiative with new and creative ideas is also encouraged

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of nonprofit professional experience (or relevant experience)
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with ability to multi-task and prioritize 
  • Sophisticated project management and creative problem solving ability
  • Comfort working and taking initiative in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
  • Skill in building relationships with diverse staff, board members, community members, and donors
  • High level of professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable working style
  • Commitment to working with humility as part of a team dedicated to diverse perspectives and voices
  • Proficiency with Zoom, Google Drive, MS Office, and calendar software 
  • Experience with varied project management, data, and customer relations systems (Asana and/or Salesforce experience a plus)
  • Willingness to work remotely and attend periodic in-person events and meetings
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
  • Openness to and interest in learning about Jewish values and community (prior knowledge is not required)
