Chicago Voyagers empowers low-income youth of color through clinically informed, academically driven outdoor adventure programs, including cycling, canoeing, hiking, and rock climbing. Founded in 2008 as a Trips for Kids affiliate, the organization expanded on the Midwest chapter’s mission by offering a broader range of activities designed to foster personal growth and resilience. Through partnerships with organizations such as North Chicago Community High School, Mercy Home, and Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club, Chicago Voyagers helps teens build confidence, communication skills, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
Chicago Voyagers is seeking a visionary, mission-driven Executive Director with a strong background in nonprofit management, fundraising, and strategic growth. Responsible for advancing the organization’s adventure-based youth programs, the Executive Director will oversee daily operations, ensure financial and legal compliance, and guide the organization through its next phase of expansion. Successful candidates will bring proven experience in organizational leadership, team development, and community engagement, along with a deep commitment to empowering underserved youth. Exceptional communication skills, fundraising success, and a passion for experiential outdoor programming, while not required, are strong assets for success in this role; familiarity with adventure therapy is also a plus.
As an equal opportunity employer, Chicago Voyagers seeks out and celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
