The Ark is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a core member of the leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO role requires a dedicated leader, with demonstrated success in financial oversight to execute on the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of this $8M organization. The CFO will provide the leadership, management and oversight necessary to ensure the organization has the appropriate operational controls, reporting procedures and systems in place to effectively grow, while maintaining excellence and ensuring financial strength and operating efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader with at least 10 years of executive and/or senior level leadership experience in the area of finance.

Compensation Range

$145,000 - $165,000

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a robust team in finance, technology, and human resources
Ensure resource allocation for organizational strategies and growth initiatives
Direct short-term and long-term planning and budget development to support strategic goals; develop measurement processes and reporting mechanisms
Review and develop financial policies and procedures to support annual and capital budgets; oversee the financial statements and dashboard
Oversee information management, risk management and other legal activities
Serve as the liaison to the Finance Committee, Campaign Finance Committee, outside auditor and investment advisor; manage strategies around endowed funds and other financial reserves
Analyze core programs to determine financial sustainability and program profitability
Work closely with the CEO and Director of Development to ensure funding for strategic priorities
Collaborate on the development of policies that promote positive organizational culture and vision
Raise the visibility and public awareness of The ARK through community engagement and outreach opportunities

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
10+ years of executive and/or senior level leadership experience in the areas of finance and/or business operations
Strong track record in creating systems and processes that increase organizational effectiveness, leverage technology and promote collaboration
Experience with non-profit financial reporting and management including managing capital budget projects
Demonstrated ability to be analytical; capable of building trust and working in partnership with staff to achieve results
Strong understanding of human resources and IT functions
Superior written and verbal communication skills; strong public speaking and presentation abilities
Effective, motivational supervisory skills with the ability to lead in a team-oriented setting
Project management expertise; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
High level of comfort working with business technology including Microsoft Excel and Salesforce; experience with Sage Intacct preferred
Passion for The ARK’s mission and strengthening the Jewish community
