Overview

Americans for Ben-Gurion University (A4BGU) is a mission-driven organization which plays a vital role in connecting U.S. donors and foundations to the important work of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU). A4BGU raises $50M a year to support BGU and has endowment assets over $750M.

BGU is a public university that serves as a catalyst for growth in the Negev. Renowned for its cutting-edge research and unique academic programs, BGU boasts 20,000 diverse students across 3 campuses (Beer Sheva, Sde Boker, Eilat). On October 7th, given its proximity to Gaza, BGU was directly and disproportionately impacted by the Hamas terror attacks. Now, BGU is solidified as one of the most important institutions to Israel’s future; it will be fundamental to Israel’s recovery and rebuilding efforts through the south.
