The Senior Director of Advancement Services is responsible for strengthening and transforming organizational systems to support philanthropic and alumni relation goals. Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, this individual will demonstrate success in campaign and donor management, CMS reporting, stewardship, fund administration, and institutional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain systems that support the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across all giving levels to ensure donor satisfaction and retention
  • Supervise Donor Stewardship by monitoring and stewarding of scholarship funds, endowments, and donor activities
  • Manage and lead Advancement Services Team; identify opportunities for staff training and development on CRM; implement programs to develop staff knowledge and understanding
  • Ensure the Advancement Services team provides accurate and timely reports detailing prospect activities
  • Supervise and oversee prospect strategy and research; responsible for identification, ratings, and process
  • Oversee the execution of multi-year fundraising campaign strategies, including grants, corporate partnerships, foundations, and individual donors; managing $25M yearly benchmark
  • Build upon the Alumni gifts program by prioritizing, stewarding, and researching potential donors; establish and steward relationships with key donors and prospects
  • Support operational needs of Annual Fund, various campaigns, and online giving
  • Serve as liaison to Information Technology, Alumni Relations, Communications, and campus teams to implement and maintain online communities, email marketing, event registration, and e-newsletters
  • Design analytic processes to establish benchmarks and evaluate fundraising activities
  • Supervise the gift entry team responsible for processing all annual, capital, and restricted gifts and pledges

Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of successful nonprofit fundraising, higher education experience preferred
  • Experience overseeing donor and alumni relationships
  • Ability to lead meetings and monitor output and timelines
  • Identify and implement solutions for organizational efficiency, moving projects from conceptual stages to launch
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • Proven ability to communicate and interact with stakeholders, and Board Members
  • Successful completion of a capital campaign - from planning through implementation - is a plus
  • Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Working knowledge of data management software and online fundraising tools; experience with Raiser's Edge and Give Campus
